"I can take any empty space and call it a bare stage. A man walks across this empty space whilst someone else is watching him, and this is all I need for an act of theatre to be engaged."

--Peter Brook, The Empty Space

Everyone can appreciate a good story told well, and yet, when we think of the theatre, we associate it with something we attend on special occasions--perhaps something the elite may enjoy on a regular basis. And why wouldn't it be? With show tickets typically running between $20 and $70, the theatre experience hardly seems accessible to the masses. But here at A Room of One's Own, we aim to create quality theatre events that everyone can enjoy on a regular basis, by stripping theatre down to its essentials: Performers, A Script, and A Space. We utilize raw talent and a vibrant atmosphere to create genuine human connection. Who can put a price on that?

Our Mission: To tell a story, create a dialogue, and acheive communal catharsis for all who desire it through honest writing, deep performances, and without reliance on flash or gimmicks.
